Club: Mallow A/c
Home parkrun: Tralee
Occupation: Retired from full time Occupation I am an Approved Driving Instructor part time which is challenging and hopefully keep the younger generation safe on the roads.
Number of runs: 49 Favourite volunteer role: Any role suits me I enjoyed doing pacer which was rewarding and helping other parkrunners achieve a particular time and also enjoyed tail-walker as well.
What do you do at parkrun? I like volunteering as in a way we have to give something back hopefully and my small contribution will secure the success of parkrun.
How has parkrun changed your running? parkruns gave me a new lease of life since I had surgery on my back in 2013. Recovery took over two years from walking to start running again.
What do you like about parkrun? Being a member of a new family, making new
friends, the banter. I look forward to each Saturday and meeting for coffee
and a chat afterwards.
Most memorable or funniest parkrun moment? Making new friends, First time
pacing another parkrunner came up to me and thanked me to help a new
target. Recently I had to walk a lot as I had no energy other parkrunners stopped asked was I ok and even offered to walk with me.
How did you get involved in parkrun? Turned up enjoyed the run and camaraderie
and the rest is history
