St Anne’s parkrun – Event #71, 28th February 2015

Hi parkrunners

A new dawn on 28th February in St. Annes Park allowed me to make my debut as Run Director and all nerves were blown away by
- bright sunshine
- a team of 15 amazing volunteers, who I could not have done without and
- 293 athletes who took on the course
A massive thank you to all 308 of you.

Congratulations to Bernie O'Donoghue Hynes who completed her 50th parkrun today.
Thank you to the Bank of Ireland runners, led by Conor Patton, for visiting our run today and well done on taking our "token 98" in the form of Paul Murray and also to the parkrun Personal Best Group.

Also to Mike Thompson who visited us from Marlow Striders in the UK.

David BYRNE (VM40-44) (Unattached) was first over the line in 16:41 - 4th time in 6 appearances.
David JACKSON (SM25-29) (Unattached) was second over the line in 17:26 - has been first to finish on 2 previous occasions.
Declan DOHERTY (SM30-34) of Raheny Shamrocks AC, was third (4th overall) over the line in 17:38.

Women's placings:
Deirdre BYRNE (SW30-34) (Unattached) was first (third overall) over the line in 17:32 - 17th time in 17 appearances.

Kate O' NEILL (SW30-34) was graded 83.57% for the time 17:45 (5th overall).
David BYRNE (VM40-44) was graded 83.02% for the time 16:41 (first overall).

59 recorded new Personal Bests.
Representatives of 19 different athletics clubs took part.

St Annes parkrun started on 28th September 2013, and since then 3,551 different runners, including participants from 119 athletics clubs, have completed 15,392 runs covering a total distance of 76,960 km, and there have been 3,597 new Personal Bests.

The women's record is held by Aoife TALTY who ran in a time of 00:16:51 on 2013-09-28 (event number 1).
The men's record is held by Mark KIRWAN who ran in a time of 00:15:03 on 2014-07-26 (event number 41).
The Age Grade course record is held by Mick TRAYNOR who recorded a 91.78% run (15:49) on 28th September 2013 (event number 1).

St Anne’s parkrun Event #34 31/05/14

The last day of May brought sunshine to the glorious tree-lined paths of St. Anne's park as 239 runners took the opportunity to kick off their weekend the parkrun way at the 34th St. Anne's parkrun. The parkrun way involves eating pastries and drinking coffee afterwards.... and it was great to see that in evidence post-run. This week we also welcomed runners from Bexley parkrun and Glasgow parkrun... hope you enjoyed your visit!

First home this week was Bryan O CONNOR (SM25-29) (Unattached), in 17:14, followed by Mark SHERIDAN (VM35-39) of Dundrum South Dublin Athletic Club,  in 17:36 and Brian PURCELL (VM35-39) (Unattached) in 17:44.

Lorraine BYRNE (VW40-44) of Raheny Shamrocks AC, led the ladies home in 19:33, followed by Joyce O'HARE (SW30-34) of Clonliffe Harriers A.C., in 20:00 and Niamh LENNON (SW30-34) (Unattached) in 20:29.

The following runners recorded the best Age Grade scores:
Johnny FENNELL (VM50-54) was graded 80.20% for the time 18:41 (7th overall).
Lorraine BYRNE (VW40-44) was graded 79.88% for the time 19:33 (16th overall).
Fraser MCINDOE (VM45-49) was graded 79.60% for the time 18:23 (4th overall).

Congratulations to Stephen Power on securing the all important 98th position this week. Great stuff Stephen.....

There were a staggering 86 personal bests recorded on Saturday.... well done all! Big thanks to Anne Jennings who acted as pacer on Saturday and inspired many of our runners to push forward and record those PBs!

This week there were 239 runners, of whom 50 were first timers and 86 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 12 different athletics clubs took part.

St Annes parkrun started on 28th September 2013, and since then 2,058 different runners, including participants from 70 athletics clubs, have completed 7,026 runs covering a total distance of 35,130 km, and there have been 1,742 new Personal Bests.
