Porterstown parkrun # 96 – 19/08/2017

Another great morning for porterstown parkrun.
We were delighted to have Darragh Crowley join us.

Darragh never walked more than a few metres in all his life, until his world changed in July. Darragh did his first parkrun today!!!

Darragh has Cystic Fibrosis and has spent much of his life sick in hospital. Since Christmas Darragh has been extremely ill. Things were not looking good.
Then six weeks ago Darragh received a double lung transplant and hasn't looked back.
He has gone from 10% to 100% lung function and for the first time ever he can exercise. Some 49 days after this major operation, on 7th August, Darragh walked over the finish line of his first ever race.
