Run report run no 128: 25/01/20

This was our last parkrun at Poolbeg of this winter and you can really feel the seasons changing. There’s an extra hour of daylight in the day since Christmas and we’re gaining 3 minutes day on day.We were treated to a beautiful bright still morning on the running of today’s 128th Poolbeg parkrun. We had bumper 270 walkers, joggers, triathletes, runners, and 20 lovely volunteers made this event happen.

83106869_825954751161129_249587528892416000_nT3 Triathlon Club joined us to do the parkrun as part of one of their training sessions. Running, obviously. We had a number of new volunteers as well as regular, Clodagh Fagan, who deserves a big congratulations for completing her Silver Gaisce Award. Bravo, well done, Clodagh!

Big shout outs to David O'Donnell, and Christopher Elms who reached their 50th parkrun milestone today. Great work, guys!

We had parkrun tourists from as far away as Italy, America, the Netherlands, Poland as well as several from Britain, other parts of Ireland and exotic Mullingar join us this morning. Of the 270 parkruners, we had representatives of 20 different clubs who took part, as well as 60 Personal Bests, and 58 first timers.

If you’re interested in volunteering. There are 3 types of roll to be filled for next week, Barcode Scanning, Marshall, and Tail Walker. These rolls involve scanning barcodes, standing and pointing, and walking respectively. If you’re interested just contact us at an event, or through our social media, or at

Today a few of our finisher tokens decided to go adventuring. If you find one of these (numbers 127, 135, 143, 148, 221, 222, and 226), could you drop it to us at an event. The tokens are property of parkrun and we reuse them every week so we kind of need them back. Thanks.
