Our first Saturday parkrun of 2020, and another bumper crowd, and another smashing sunrise over Dún Laoghaire. This week we took a few pictures, not that we are showing off or anything!
Despite the amazing backdrop, our participants were able to focus their attention in the opposite direction at the wonderful Alice who made her debut in the role of run director. Duck to water stuff, a natural. Well done.
Today was the 125th running of the Poolbeg parkrun. We had 211 walkers, joggers, triathletes, runners, and of course 18 lovely volunteers made this event happen.
We had several tourists from Britain, sunny South Africa, and sunnier Gorey join us this morning. Of the 211 parkrunners, we had representatives of 17 different clubs who took part, as well as 27 Personal Bests for those returning, and 48 first timers.
Congratulations to Poolbeg regular, Keenan Furlong, who completed his 50th parkrun today in style by matching his parkrun PB time. Well done. Your red tshirt will look great with your pink trainers!
If you’re interested in volunteering, we would love to have you. Tasks range in difficulty from pushing a button, to scanning barcodes, and standing and pointing. If you feel up to this, we can make it happen. Just contact us at an event, or through our social media, or at email@example.com.
Today a few of our finisher tokens decided to go home with their finisher. Ye must be great company. If you find one of these (numbers 164, 165, 168, & 171), could you drop it to us next week or at any other future event. The reward is a free parkrun! Thanks.
Attention stat nerds! January is the month in which you can complete the most parkruns by virtue of the New Years Day double. This year you can enjoy 6 parkruns in January 2020.
Today's full results and a complete event history can be found on the Poolbeg parkrun Results Page.
