Run Report, Our first Birthday – Event #53

Event #53
5th August 2017
Event Photos: [Click here]

Can you believe we are one year old? Time flies when your having fun they say! To mark our first birthday in style we had lots of freshly baked treats as well as teas and coffees (literally three tables full!).

A massive thank-you to all our bakers, which included runners, volunteers and friends of volunteers. I was starting to worry if we would manage to get through all the food but thankfully you were all a hungry bunch today :)

We were so lucky with the weather, heavy rainfall in the hours before parkrun, dry sunshine throughout and more heavy rain after the event was finished!

Now, some yearly stats for Oranmore parkrun:

  • 53 Events
  • 2027 registrations
  • 1626 individuals completed a run
  • 6782 runs completed
  • 33,910 km run in total by all of you!
  • 655 volunteer roles filled
  • 208 people volunteered

And amongst all the eating, we did actually have a 5km run today :)

Run Report – 13th August 2016

Event number: 2
13th August 2016

Event 2
Photos from the day can be found [HERE].

It seems Oranmore parkrun is proving to be popular! We started off the day as the event with the most new weekly registrations, and it did not disappoint. 176 people turned out in full force, 124 of which were first timers to parkrun.

The first Male over the line was William Robinson at 17:19 (our new course record!), closely followed by Fergal Walsh, and one of our regular volunteers, Adam Leadbetter.

First Female over the line was Andy Lavery at 20:37, followed by Edel Kelly, who was also the first Female over the line last week. Congratulations to you all!

Thanks to our tourist runners from Bushy parkrun for joining us today, - Carol, Jonathan, Emma and Ben Dickinson. It was great to have you with us, and we hope you enjoy the rest of your stay in Galway.

Finally, a big thanks to Megan Leadbetter, our youngest volunteer and barcode scanner today, who received her purple t-shirt today, for volunteering more than 25 times.

Remember, parkrun couldn't happen without the support of our great volunteers. If you are interested in getting involved, please get in contact.

Please share with your friends, and hopefully we will see you again next week
