Glorious blue skies and warm sunshine greeted our 84 parkrunners this week at Naas race course. Patrick Malone made a welcomed return to come in first over the line in 17.03. Abigail Dunne from Naas AC was our first lady home in 20.53 with our two super juniors Amy McGrath and Eabha Stewart following in second and third place. We were thrilled to have a parkrun visitor from Norwich, Simon Beckett run his 123rd parkrun in Naas. Congrats also to the Sweeney Joggers Andrew and Bernadette Sweeney who have now run over 10 parkruns. This week saw 28 new personal bests ,great running by everyone considering the heat. Many thanks to our wonderful volunteers this week Carmel Murray, Ann Fitzgerald and Anne Hughes. We would love to hear from more volunteers who might not want to run some Saturday and they can see how parkrun works behind the scenes. Contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org to volunteer.
There was unfortunately a distraction off the track this week with one of our regular parkrunners falling ill. We would like to take this opportunity to thank the fast response of the local ambulance service and also to thank the wonderful staff at Naas A&E who looked after our parkrunner so well. The good news is that she was given the all clear and we hope to see her back with us soon when she makes a full recovery. A special thanks also to all our parkrunners who stopped to help and all who offered help. You are a very caring community.
Finally we hope to see you all this Wednesday at the parkrun Social BBQ evening at Naas race course. €20 gets you Admission,a Racecard and a BBQ meal. Great value and a chance to meet up with fellow parkrunners out of their running gear!
