Oh my God Naas parkrunners YOU ROCK! We couldn't believe the turnout this morning - horrendous rain & wind couldn't keep you away! 30 PBs - runners, you're all heading in ONE DIRECTION!!
Our first man (plus buggy) to cross the line this morning was Stephen Makin, a parkrun tourist from Manchester, with 94 parkruns under his belt! Stephen and his daughter completed the run in 18:24, followed by Mark Glynn in 18:53 - who was our first junior to finish today. We would like to wish Mark the very best of luck from all in parkrun for the Leinsters next weekend - we know he'll do Kildare proud!
Congratulations to Tracy Jennings, our first lady to cross the line today! Not only did Tracy run a PB today, but she also broke the female course record by finishing in a time of 19:58 - well done Tracy!
We'd like to thank Gerry Halton from Naas Athletics Club for such a dynamic warm-up this morning, Gerry then went on to run the course and achieve a PB - good on you Gerry!
Thanks to Ann Fitzgerald again this week for helping out. As you all know, parkrun is a free community event and is only sustainable with the help of volunteers. If you would like to help out in any way please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend, those of you heading up to Croke Park - enjoy the concert - a few of the volunteers went last night and said One Direction put on a great show but to wrap up warm! Looking forward to seeing you all again next weekend - the last parkrun before the mini-marathon!
