Dull but hot, hot, hot!!! Event No. 20

The beautiful blue skies of the past week were nowhere to be seen this morning but our runners still had a tough run as temperatures hadn't dropped! Despite the heat, 21 of our runners achieved a PB - well done to you all!
First across the line this morning was Ashton Farrell of Naas AC with a brilliant time of 17:43 followed by Aaron Browne of Lakeshore Striders in 17:57. Our first lady to complete the course this morning was Marie Keane with a great time of 21:44! Our first junior to finish this morning was Billy Kelly, who ran an amazing race and achieved a time of 24:25 - well done Billy, keep up the great work!

Thanks to this weeks volunteers - Ann Fitzgerald and Aidan Nulty who took some fantastic photos!

Unforeseen circumstances have scheduled an unplanned two week break for Naas parkrun - we will be back in action on Saturday August 16th! In the meantime however, why not try out some of our neighbouring parkruns - Waterstown Park, Tymon or Griffeen!

As you know parkrun is only sustainable with the help of volunteers - we really need everyone's help to keep this event going. Please email us at and let us know when you are available to help out with this fantastic, free, community event!

See you on the 16th AUGUST!

Event #18 – A Soft Day

A little bit of rain did nothing to dampen our parkrunners' spirits or energy levels this morning - 16 new PB's recorded and some very exciting finishes!
Feidhlim O'Dubhlaing was first across the finish line with a great time of 17:37 - a new PB, followed by Daniel Courtney. Aimee McGrath was our first lady today and also achieved a new PB. Jack Fitzgerald was our first junior across the line in a great time of 19:28.
It was lovely to see new faces again this week enjoying the course - well done to you all!
Thanks to Gerry for his great warm-up and inspiring pep talk about the joys of running in the rain - as always his warm-up was enjoyed by all!
Thanks to this week's volunteers - Cathy McVicker and her daughter Aida McNamee who did a great job taking photos this week and helping out at our water station!
Over the summer months we'd appreciate help with our volunteer roster to keep the event running smoothly - please email us at if you can spare an hour of your time any Saturday morning!
We'd like to wish all our parkrunners running in Donadea Forest 5k run this weekend the best of luck.
We look forward to seeing you all again next Saturday morning bright and early - keep running.

Event # 17- Beautiful July Morning !

What a gorgeous morning it was for our parkrunners - it's such a beautiful sight to see all the colourful t-shirts running around the track with the blue sky as a backdrop! Well done to everyone getting up early on a Saturday morning to fit a run into their busy schedules.

It was great to welcome Ashton Farrell back to parkrun this week who was first to finish and also achieved a personal best with a great time of 16:53. Amy McGrath was our first female and first junior to cross the line today - great running! 14 of our runners recorded PB's this morning - a great performance by everyone!
We were thrilled to welcome Sally O'Regan, a parkrun tourist from Roundshaw Downs parkrun in the UK - this was Sally's 96th parkrun and said it was an enjoyable course!
Gerry of course was on hand this morning for a super warm-up and tips for our runners - a big thanks and thumbs up from us all! We'd like to thank this weeks volunteers Daniel Prone, Niamh O'Reilly and Cathy McVicker and we'd also like to wish Daniel the best of luck in his Triathlon in Athlone this afternoon! Over the summer months we'd appreciate help with our volunteer roster to keep the event running smoothly - please email us at if you could spare an hour of your time on a Saturday morning!

We hope all our parkrunners running in both Achill and Clontarf events today had a great run and we look forward to welcoming them back to the Racecourse next week!

See you all bright and early next week - keep up the training!
