Father Collins parkrun - Event number 229 - 1st February 2020

And just like that Spring has sprung! The first of February marks Saint Bridget’s day and traditionally the beginning of spring! While there may not have been a reed cross in sight at Father Collins we did have 139 people who joined us for parkrun this week who ran, jogged and walked the course and of whom 22 were first timers and 18 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 14 different clubs took part. While there was no Bridget’s making their way around our 5k course we did have some lovely tourists from Castletown and Kilkenny!

The event was made possible by 12 volunteers: Gaetan MEISTER • Rachel MARKEY • Maebh MONAHAN • Matthew TOBIN • Aoife MCCARTHY • Ita O'HANLON • Patricia KELLY • Tara RUSSELL • Sadhbh MCCARTHY • Monika SULIK • Martin LEONARD • Marius GHERMAN

Our able run director Aoife took charge and was ably assisted by her lovely daughter Sadhbh who is making her way towards her prestigious 25 volunteer shirt! We had two volunteer milestones today – a massive well done to both Martin Leonard and Monika Sulik!

And indeed well done to our 18 superstars who achieved a PB on Saturday:

Do let us know if you end up doing any tourism – some of our run directors will be checking out Navan parkrun this week and will even manage a certain amount of clucking around the course to mark a certain lady’s hen weekend!

See you soon,
