Father Collins parkrun - Event number 218 - 16th November 2019
On a very cold but dry morning, 95 people ran, jogged and walked the course at Father Collins park. Six of that number were first timers and we hope that you will come and visit us again. Despite the cold conditions, it was a perfect morning for running as 19 people recorded new Personal Bests, which is 20% of the participants which is an amazing number so well done to everyone and great going by you all. There was also representatives of 9 different clubs who took part.
Along with the large number of PBs, there was three further reasons for celebrations last Saturday morning as three of our regular runners and volunteers, Martin Leonard and John and Liz O’Dwyer all completed their 50th parkrun so well done on the milestone and I hear that the cake was only gorgeous! We look forward to seeing you all in your new shiny milestone tshirts in the very near future.
Father Collins also celebrated its 3,000 individual participant on Saturday which on finishing positions was Jarlath O’Loughlin so well done Jarlath and we’re already on the way to our 4,000 individual participant so onwards and upwards.
As the personal bests and all the celebrations and all the yummy cake would not be taking place if we didn’t have volunteers to make each parkrun happen so a huge thanks to the bakers’ dozen of 13 volunteers: Austin KEEGAN • Aisling KEEGAN • Matthew TOBIN • Aoife MCCARTHY • Tara KELLY • Adrienne DELANEY • Tara MCNALLY • Guus LEEUW • Sadhbh MCCARTHY • Jenny BOWERS • Oisin BREATHNACH • Margaret BOWERS • Oisin DE CONDUIN
We already have a full roster for next week which is great to see but we do need volunteers in the lead up to the end of the year (its too early to mention the ‘C’ word isn’t it?) so please help us by dropping us an email or a message on Facebook to help out. All the jobs are fairly easy and its good fun too.
Saturday's full results and a complete event history can be found on the Father Collins parkrun Results Page.
