Fairview Parkrun report #86 (Parkwalk week 4)

What a great event at Fairview Parkwalk/ Parkrun this Saturday the 23rd. The sunshine was quite a change from last week, bringing nearly perfect conditions to the route and maybe even encouraging a few extra participants to turn out!

This week we welcomed 137 people who ran, jogged and walked the course. As part of this, we had visitors join us from Ellesmere Port, London, Belfast, Donegal, and St Anne's (Dublin).

For those who like statistics, 33 were first timers and 40 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 11 different clubs took part. Congratulations to all of these participants!

As always, we would never be able to have any Parkrun event without our volunteers. Eighteen "hi-viz heroes" stepped forward to make sure that our participants were welcome and could complete the course safely. Thank you to each and every one!

Fairview parkrun #85
16th March 2019

Fairview parkrun Event number 85  on 16th March 2019

A small storm did not deter our parkrun event #85.  We could go ahead without too much disruption, our volunteer team completed wonderful parkrun setup in Fairview park and checked the course. The start was good and fast, but unfortunately you then had to turn in and out of the wind several times on the course, along with light rain, most seemed to agree that it was a hard run today. Well done to all the participants.  Run director Tom, warned everyone of the slippy, wet and windy conditions.

88 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 14 were first timers and 8 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 8 different clubs took part.

The volunteers set up the START with lots of GREEN to mark the St. Patrick’s festival weekend.  A great atmosphere of participant friendship was noticeable during the parkrun.
