Event #198 dawned a chilly bright morning for Castletown's fourth anniversary celebration which saw 165 ghouls, witches and other creepy creatures toe the line and dodge the many puddles around the course. Four years since Sharon, Marian, Declan, Sheila, Laura, Eavan, Alan and John set the ball rolling to bring Paul Sinton-Hewitt's simple yet brilliant idea to the local community, and how it has touched and changed so many lives. Thanks to that original core team and also the O.P.W. and the Courtyard cafe for making us feel welcome each week.
Well done to Brendan Mooney on 100 parkruns, our only individual milestone this week, don't forget to claim that black tee shirt Brendan.
We welcomed visitors from Porterstown, Shanganna and the UK and special thanks to Rafal Wirkus and the Polish runners club for the fabulous apple cake, between that and the cream birthday cake we all went home happy.
21 people joined us for their first parkrun, 27 people achieved new pbs and the first 3 men home where 1st Michael Comer, 2nd place unknown and 3rd Richard Nunan while Lisa Ryan was first lady, second was Anne Dooley and Olive Sweetman was third.
Well done to all the representatives of Castletown who took part in the Dublin City Marathon, runners and volunteers, it was a fantastic event.
Our lost property collection is growing each week so please check out the photo and if you recognise something that might be yours please claim it next week otherwise all will be donated to a clothes bank. A runners belt was also found on the course on Saturday containing a small amount of money
