Event #193, 21st Sept 2019

Last Friday on Facebook we promised you 3 of the follow
good weather, milestones, cake, or bling.
At Castletown parkrun we never let you down-

We had the good weather:

We had milestones, well done to Gerry Duffy and John O'Lone.

We had cake

and some of our regulars went to the Phoenix Park for the Dublin half in search of the bling

We had 189 people run, walk and jog the course 23 first timers and 28 of ye recorded personal bests. You were aided along by 17 volunteers.

Eoin Negle, Dave McCarrick and Ryan Van Haeften made up the top 3 men.

First timer Anna Simkovics was the first lady across the line. At one point she had us thinking the ladies course record might be about to fall after 3 and a half years but it lives to fight another day. Suzanne Quinn and Zoe Melling made the top 3 ladies.

This week was also week 3 of Park Walk where we encourage people who might not completed the 5k in under 30 to still come along as we allow all paces to take part. We had 41 people take longer then 40 minutes and year on year the average time is getting slower and we love that fact.

Some of our core team are off to Bushy parkrun in London this weekend to see where parkrun began as we celebrate parkrun's 15th birthday on October 5th. I am going to ensure they can back safely as one of them is meant to be RD on the 5th October.

Thanks as always
