Run Report #78, 3rd June 2017.

Saturday morning looked like it was going to be a dry one, unlike the previous week where we were absolutely soaked.  As it was a bank holiday weekend I thought we might have a very quiet week. However we had 184 runners and walkers, 18 of those were first timers, all very welcome!

Our first three runners home were Eoin McManus 17.57,  Oisin Fitzgibbon (first timer) 18.10 and Nigel Plowman 19.27.  Well done to you all!

Our first three women were Caragh Hayes 21.30, Fiona Holmes 22.19 and Helen Lane 23.16.  Well done ladies!

Congratulations to all our participants you are truly an awesome bunch!

We had a 50 milestone on Saturday too!  Congratulations to Gerry Egan!  Looking forward to seeing you in the red tee-shirt!
In this report I would really like to thank all the parkrun volunteers whom without there would be no run!  This hi-vis brigade turn up every week to cheer on and encourage runners at parkruns all over the world.  They also take on jobs that they have never done with great enthusiasm!  No job is hard is a true saying but sometimes it can be daunting so I applaud them!  Not to be left out are the non hi-vis wearing volunteers like the person who runs around the course for set-up to make sure everything is safe for all participants to the person who takes home the hi-vis to wash and dry them for the next week!  All voluntheroes in anyones book.

These are a small selection of photos of our wonderful volunteers!

Lost and Found.

We are missing token numbers 11 and 147. If they're hiding in your pockets, could we have them back for next weeks event, pretty please. The rest of the tokens are lonely.

We also have some items in lost property. If any of these are yours, they will be available from the Run Director on duty until the end of June, when, if not claimed, they will be donated to charity.

Upcoming events.

Next week sees Leixlip Tennis Club host an open day. Feel free to pop over and check out the fantastic courts that the club have to offer. If you've got your training shoes on, you could even enjoy a game of tennis.  Checkout the details for the day here.

Following on from that, another of our supporters, Celbridge AC, are hosting their annual 5k from the track.  It's suitable for all abilities and it's always a fantastic morning of fun.  Check out full details here.

So until next week when we get to do it all again

Your run director for 3rd June 2017,
