Run Report Event #149

Ballincollig parkrun
Event number 149
27th April 2019

While Storm Hannah resulted in the cancellation of a number of parkruns she didn't put a stop to 276 hardy parkrunners who braved the elements to complete this morning's parkrun.

Under the watchful eye of RD Suzi 276 people ran, jogged and walked the course, 22 of these were first timers and 54 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 26 different clubs took part.

The event was made possible by an amazing 32 volunteers:

Suzanne QUIRKE • John KISSANE • Shane O'CALLAGHAN • Fiona CUNNINGHAM • Colette RYAN • Denise MURPHY • Maretta BRENNAN • Michael BRENNAN • Brendan DEANE • Carmen BURNS • Anne SHEEHY • Kay BIRCH • Alison RIORDAN • Mark KENNY • Keitaro ADO • Pawel SWITAJ • Colette CULVER • Graham MEIKLE • Laura LANE • Don FITZGERALD • Jessica SANDERSON • Carol FITZGERALD • John WALSH • Jane MOFFATT • Donal FENNESSY • Liz O'BRIEN • Paul O DONOVAN • Jeremiah MURPHY • Uzma SHAHEEN • Muhammad MAJID • Oonagh GOGGIN • Senzeni Nomasonto MPOFU

Today's full results and a complete event history can be found on the Ballincollig parkrun Results Page.

Conor Dolan got a special mention in Run Report Event #148 when he was the first finisher for the 20th time. His record now stands at 21. It was a tight finish as there were only 5 seconds between Conor and second place finisher Finbarr O'Dwyer. Well done to both. While we all know the parkrun isn't a race we must admit the volunteers love to see a good sprint, regardless of the finishing time :-)

Congratulations are in order for the following parkrunners:

  • Colette Ryan, our resident parkrun course checker and photographer who completed her 150th parkrun
  • Bertie Hickey who has joined the 100 club
  • Conor O'Callaghan who is now a member of the 50 club, and
  • Conor Fennessey Ryan who is our latest junior 10 club member

Tune in next week as we report on another group of parkrunners who are fast approaching their parkrun milestones.

REMINDER next week all even and odd times from 20 to 40 minutes will be paced if we can get sufficient volunteers. At the moment all the slots from 20-30 and 40 minutes are filled so please contact us at ballincollig@parkrun.com if you can pace 31-39 mins.
