This week 533 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 101 were first timers and 60 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 27 different clubs took part.
533 is a record attendance for Ballincollig, the previous record being 448 people (January 2017).
This week's record attendance Ballincollig parkrun event #134 was made possible by 30 fabulous volunteers.

A big shout out and thanks to today's Run Director, Paula Mulcahy, for making sure of a smooth event with these massive numbers of attendees. It's no mean feat to cater for that many people, so well done for organising all the volunteers to help getting everyone over the line and getting the results processed quickly.

First timers, Tourists and Visitors
We had 101 first timers to Ballincollig this week, and 84 of those were doing their first ever parkrun.
For those 84 people, you should be very proud of yourselves for making it to the start line, the hardest part is just getting there. We hope to see most of those first timers back again over the coming weeks.
We welcomed quite a few runners from different parkruns around the country and over from the UK.
We had Noel Redmond and Mary Redmond from New Ross, Christina RYAN from Clonmel, Oonagh O LEARY from Listowel, Ann KELLEHER from St. Anne's, Ella HORGAN from Tralee, Ailbhe MCDAID from Liverpool and Sophie LARARD over from Inverness. Welcome all.

Personal Bests (PBs)
In amongst the congestion of 533 attendees, 60 people managed to get PBs this week.
Well done to our Junior runners below who all got PBs today: Isaac CUNNANE [JM10], Daniel WALSHE [JM11-14], Fionn DUGGAN [JM11-14], Senan BRISLANE [JM11-14], Michael DELANEY [JM11-14], Kyran BRYAN [JM11-14], Luke O'MAHONY [JM11-14] and Elana BUTTIMER [JW11-14].
On the other end of the scale, the honours of being in the most senior category to get a PB today falls to Mike FEENEY [VM60-64].

3 out of the 6 male and female first finishers were doing their very first parkrun!
First finisher overall who ran his very first parkrun was Shane KEARNEY (VM35-39) in a time of 17:53.
Second home was Nick HOGAN (VM35-39) in a time of 18:38.
Third home was John LONGAN (SM25-29) in a time of 19:36.
First female over the line who ran her very first parkrun was Martina KIELY VW35-39 in a time of 19:07.
Second female was a tourist from Liverpool, Ailbhe MCDAID (SW30-34), who ran in a time of 19:47.
Third female over the line was also doing her very first parkrun, Linda O SULLIVAN (VW45-49), in a time of 21:03.

The male record is held by Tim O DONOGHUE who recorded a time of 16:01 on 8th April 2017 (event number 43).
The female record is held by Lizzie LEE who recorded a time of 17:39 on 29th December 2018 (event number 131).
The Age Grade course record is held by Conor ENRIGHT who recorded 91.67% (20:24) on 5th August 2017 (event number 60).
Ballincollig parkrun started on 18th June 2016. Since then 6,234 participants have completed 36,156 parkruns covering a total distance of 180,780 km, including 6,783 new Personal Bests. A total of 560 individuals have volunteered 3,112 times.
