Event #12 – Bank Holiday Scorchio

Wow - what a difference a week can make! Suncream & water were required rather than wet-gear and coffee! This week 94 runners kicked off their weekend in glorious sunshine - 34 of whom recorded PBs which is an amazing achievement in that heat!
Gerry Halton from Naas AC gave his usual brilliant warm-up with some very inspiring tips for our runners! We'd like to wish Gerry and all other Kildare athletes running in the Leinsters tomorrow the best of luck.
First across the line this morning was Aaron Browne from the Lakeshore Striders with a great time of 18:21, this was Aaron's first appearance and he tells us he will be returning with more Striders for training runs! Tracy Jennings was our first lady to cross the line this week and Jack Fitzgerald was our first junior home.
We'd like to wish all our parkrunners participating in the Mini Marathon on Monday the very best of luck - you have the training done, enjoy the day!
We'd like to thank this weeks volunteers Tim Farmer, Patrick Holohan and Gerry Halton. As you know parkrun is a free community event that can only be maintained with the help of volunteers. Did you know that volunteers receive maximum points (100pts.) when they volunteer?!.This is the same as coming in first place !!!!!
We'd like to wish you all a brilliant Bank Holiday Weekend - enjoy the heatwave, hopefully it's the start of a great summer. See you all next Saturday.
