Week 210 – Kilkenny parkrun – Saturday 17th November 2018

This week 210 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 30 were first timers and 22 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 13 different clubs took part.

Welcome to our new walkers who participated for the first time.  If you know of anyone else who would like to try some light exercise let them know we are having parkwalking for the next 5 weeks.

The event was made possible by 24 volunteers:. Thanks to those who gave their names for next week and those who said they will email kilkennyparkrun when they know availability.

Welcome to first timers and visitors from Dublin,  Wicklow, Paris and Manchester. 

Congratulations to Roisin Molloy on completing her 100 parkrun, Great achievement Roisin !!

We wish all Kilkenny parkrunners  taking place in the annual Stook event on Sunday 18th November the very best.

The  Kilkenny Medieval Mile is on the 7th of December at 7-.30pm  If you or a friend are free to volunteer contact Seamus Nugent at KRSP.

Week 209 – Kilkenny parkrun – Saturday 10th November 2018

This week 211 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 10 were first timers and 29 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 12 different clubs took part.

The event was made possible by 23 volunteers, thanks to each and every one of them.

Many thanks to all from Gowran AC who did a  Volunteer 'takeover'  today and  we wish them well with their annual Stook event on Sunday 18th November.

Welcome to first timers and visitors from London and Dublin. Special birthday wishes to Joy Harper and Joy Cox who not only share a name! and big thank you to Angela Lalor who made the fab cake for them and an unearthly hour this morning :)

FREE, timed, 5km event

  •  You don’t have to run, walkers are welcome at parkrun
  • Our walk leaders will be there weekly to meet and greet you
  • You can walk or jog, push a buggy or walk the dog
  • Walk leaders will accompany you whilst you walk
  • Join us afterwards for a coffee and meet the team in a Kilkenny Castle Kitchen

Week 208 – Kilkenny parkrun Saturday 3rd November 2018

This week 155 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 18 were first timers and 15 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 14 different clubs took part.

The event was made possible by 20 volunteers, thanks to each and every one of them. Thanks to Katie Dillon Keane ,Joy Cox  Edie Smyth and Brian Smyth for stepping up and volunteering this morning as we were left short. Please remember to confirm if you cannot make it on the day to volunteer so we know in advance :)

We are looking forward to the Gowran AC doing their Volunteer 'takeover' next week in lieu of their upcoming Stook event on Sunday 18th November.

Week 207- Kilkenny parkrun – Saturday 27th October 2018

This week 198 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 20 were first timers and 29 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 8 different clubs took part.

The event was made possible by 19 volunteers, thanks to each and every one of them.

Welcome to first timers and visitors from as far afield as  Cavan, Letterkenny, Mullingar, Cork and Kerry.

Congratulations to Paul Fields on completing his 150th parkrun, and to Declan Walshe who completed his 50th parkrun. Well done to you both and here's to many more.

Best of luck to the regular parkrunners who are completing in the Dublin CIty Marathon tomorrow as well as Nice next week, be safe and enjoy. Many of the volunteers from this week were marathon runners tapering before the big day. Many thanks to them and best wishes.
